Frequency Scan–Based Mitigation Approach of Subsynchronous Control Interaction in Type-3 Wind Turbines

چکیده
Integration of wind energy resources into the grid creates several challenges for power system dynamics. More specifically, Type-3 turbines are susceptible to subsynchronous control interactions (SSCIs) when they become radially connected a series-compensated transmission line. SSCIs can cause disruptions in generation and result significant damage farm (WF) components equipment. This paper proposes an approach mitigate using online frequency scan, with optimized phase angles voltage harmonic injection maintain steady-state operation, modify controllers or operating conditions turbine. The proposed strategy is simulated PSCAD/EMTDC software on IEEE second benchmark model resonance. Simulation results demonstrate effectiveness this by ensuring oscillations do not grow.

Subsynchronous Torsional Interaction of Wind Farms with FSIG Wind Turbines Connected to LCC-HVDC Lines
High-voltage direct current (HVDC) lines with line-commutated converter (LCC) are being increasingly employed to transmit bulk wind power over long distance. However, this may cause the sub-synchronous torsional interaction (SSTI) between the wind farms and the LCC-HVDC system. The SSTI characteristics of wind farms with fixed-speed induction generator (FSIG) wind turbines connected to LCC-HVDC...

In order to obtain lower cost of energy for wind turbines fault detection and accommodation is important. Expensive condition monitoring systems are often used to monitor the condition of rotating and vibrating system parts. One example is the gearbox in a wind turbine. This system is operated in parallel to the control system, using different computers and additional often expensive sensors. I...

The paper presents an intelligent wind turbine control system based on models integrating the following three approaches: data mining, model predictive control, and evolutionary computation. To enhance the control strategy of the intelligent system, a multi-objective model is proposed. The model involves five different objectives with different weights controlling the wind turbine performance. ...
متن کاملModel Based Control of Wind Turbines: Look-Ahead Approach
A new composite turbine control architecture that consists of feedforward and feedback parts based on the upwind speed measurements and wind speed measurements at the turbine site, respectively, is described. The algorithm starts with preprocessing of a low-rate sampled upwind speed via the spline interpolation method. A run-ahead model driven by the signals from a preprocessing block models th...
